FEED SA Tummies

FEEDSA. Feeding hearts, minds and tummies.

FEED SA Tummies FEED SA Tummies Food is a fundamental requirement in all townships. Food prevents the effects of malnutrition, which are both physical and cognitive. It is our firm belief that the right to food is imperative for education, the learning of life skills, health & hygiene and social interaction. The volunteers at FEED SA are responsible and accountable for the arranging and delivery of food hampers at the end of each month – ensuring that each child from each crèche is guaranteed 2 meals a day. In return, FEED SA receives their reports for the month. Our beneficiaries receive no other parcels of food other than what the teachers selflessly donate from their own salaries, which often leaves these dedicated caregivers with very little thereafter.
By assisting with the food handouts, these teachers are then able to make ends meet without the additional burden of feeding these hungry children. The Details: FEED SA’s feeding scheme is the backbone of the FEED SA programme. To date FEED SA assists 42 beneficiaries – from Alexandra Township, Soweto, Orlando West, Orange Farm, and the West Rand (around 5347 people).

  • Funding for the feeding programme can be done on a monthly or annual basis.
  • FEED SA sources its beneficiaries through committed and prominent figures within the different communities.
