SARLA (South Africa Rugby Legends Association) and their rugby legends come to visit and hand out blankets to the elderly and bed-ridden citizens of the Phutuditjaba Community centre in Alexandra Township, which is one of FEED SA’s beneficiaries. Thanks guys, and thank you Blue Label and Richmark. It was an AWESOME event and much gratitude to David Von Hoesslin, Joost Van Der Westhuizen , Riaan Erwee and Mac Masina who made the day so special by being there to hand over the blankets. They came at the PERFECT time for Winter, and were received with so much gratitude and joy!!
FEED SA was charity of choice for Big Brother Africa to take the kiddies and the inmates to a fun carnival day!! FEED SA is climbing up there, and continues to feed bodies, minds and souls DAILY !! Thank you for such a fun day BBA, our nunu’s loved it!!!

We distributed these warm woolies to our beneficiaries right in time for the Winter season , and now we have made lots of kids “snug as bugs” for the Winter season.

Gauteng Baobab Early Childhood Training Programme is an organization that has been established in order to provide accredited early childhood training for child minders and care givers in the communities. The facilitators are accredited assessors and are included on the EDTP SETA (Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority) data base.
Many employed child-minders and care-givers in both Soweto and the Alexandra communities, want to establish best practice in the way that they teach children.
These teachers do not have the financial means or even the appropriate educational levels to go to professional colleges or Universities. BAOBAB will be providing this training to the Preschool teachers who are supported by FEED SA at a very minimal cost to the learners. All lectures, educational teaching material , stationery and emotional support will be provided for by BAOBAB. The weekly transporting of the learners to King David Linksfield will be sponsored by FEED SA .
At the end of the training course the learners will receive an NQF level 1 accreditation. The mission statement for BAOBAB is to empower care-givers and child-minders to advance their teaching skills, as foundation learning for all children and to foster commitment for future education and training.
BAOBAB and King David Linksfield (PPS) together with FEED SA are going to lead our teachers to a brighter educated future for our special South African children.
The Ronnie and Rhona Lubner Child and Youth Care Center at Phutaditjaba Community Centre.
On March 2nd, FEED SA’s Co-Executive Directors attended the opening of the Ronnie and Rhona Lubner Child and Youth Care Centre in the heat of Alexandra Township – one of South Africa’s most densely populated and impoverished areas.
The centre has been designed to accommodate 200 children aged between 2 and 6 in a formal ECD programme , and another 200 primary and high school participants in the formal after school ” Child and Youth Development “programme that compliments their formal schooling years.
Involvement and extra mural activities at the Centre include sports training (gymnasium and boxing), dancing, music and computer training.
After the launch, an official plaque was unveiled, where FEED SA, along with other huge organizations, was recognized as an official partner to the center.
FEED SA continues to supply Phutaditjaba Community Centre with monthly food parcels catering to Vulnerable Children and bed ridden citizens, as well as the organizing and arranging of sponsorship towards food parcels, sweets and presents for the centers year end Christmas parties. These parties cater to 3000 elderly citizens and 500 children!!
We are very proud and grateful to be recognized by, and a part of such a well respected, community orientated, generous and contributing organization such as Ma Afrika Tikkun and we wish them the BEST of luck, happiness, and joy with their new centre!

MANY THANKS to King David Victory Park, who treated all the kiddies from Rhonda’s Day Care, to a fun, fabulous and memorable Christams party, which was held at the KD nursery school !
The kiddies were welcomed by all the other little kids who attend KD, snacks were given upon arrival and each kid was delighted to be treated to such a fun time.
All the kids bonded so beautifully, and shared a day of laughter, joy, eating ice cream, riding bicycles, painting, climbing and much more.
The highlight of the day was when EACH kid was given a present , personally wrapped and labelled, and handed out by the kiddies from each grade.
The teachers, parents and students truly went out of their way to make this as special and festive a day as possible.

FEED SA hosted the most incredible, fun, festive and memorable Christmas party at Sithandiwe Home for the Mentally and Physically Retarded, in Alexandra Township.
The event was one to be remembered by all, for a very long time. There was music and dancing, thanks to Alex FM, who played the best music and set up groovy sound.
Father Christmas came to hand out presents to EACH child, who personally received a gift, given to them by Clamber Club, wrapped and all. Many thanks to Clamber Club for this special gesture, and for making their day even more special.
Delicious Christmas lunch and snacks and sweets was enjoyed by all. It was truly a day of laughter and joy!!!

Another wonderful and festive event was held at Banakekeleni Hospice, in Alexandra Township, where a delicious Christmas lunch was served, and snacks and treats were enjoyed by all.
Each special and committed staff member received a food hamper to take home – and an energy of joy and delight filled the air.
FEED SA made sure that this Christmas was extra special, for many of the people there, this was their last Christmas.
On 1 Dec 2010 FEED SA went into Alexandra township and we played Santa Clause. We delivered close to 700 gifts, each wrapped and addressed to each specific child.
Each child in the crèches FEED SA supports received a gift. What a honour to be able to make so many kids smile. It truly is priceless!
