To all our wonderful, generous and amazing Sponsors,
FEED SA would like to thank you SO MUCH for your wonderful, kind and generous donations throughout this whole year.
Your kindness and continuous support of FEED SA is much appreciated, and thank you too on behalf of all our beneficiaries.
FEED SA has had a fantastic year, and we look forward to continuing our work next year too.
We have taken on new beneficiaries thanks to all of you – we are now feeding 5 147 tummies daily!!
We have also managed to build 2 new schools – Bumble Bee Creche in Alex and Vicky’s orphanage and crèche in Kwa Zulu Natal…we have also taken on another school in Denver, which caters to 1083 students !!
We have put toilets at 2 of our schools – in Soweto and Alex, and we look forward to assisting many more Schools and Community Centres with their feeding scheme in 2013.
Our Teacher Training has also been extremely successful, and we will have 33 ladies completing their training in March next year, when they will be graduating.
As you know, our training is EDTP and SETA accredited.
These ladies will now have their level 1 and level 4 qualifications and will be teaching the proper, age appropriate curriculum that our kids are learning !
They have also been taught how to run small, sustainable business and are being empowered in many ways. (please see our website for more info on our Teacher Training)
We appreciate your helping us in assisting those who are much less fortunate than we are and we look forward to working with you next year.
We wish you all a FANTASITC and PROSPEROUS New Year, filled with an abundance of every wonderful thing.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR
Love Candice and Joanne
Moriah college is a school in Sydney Australia that does AMAZING fundraising for FEED SA.
The high school held a Mufti day (our equivalent of a “civvies day”) and all fund raised from this event came to FEED SA.
The Theme was hippies and the kids has a GREAT day, all while donating to a good cause across the globe.
Thanks to everyone at Moriah for partaking in this event, and a special thanks to Joanne Bloch for her hard work, commitment and dedication to FEEDSA.
None of this would be possible without YOU, so a huge thanks from FEED SA and all our beneficiaries.
A huge thanks to Janice Pearlman and all the people who assisted in the buying and wrapping of Christmas presents for all our kiddies… What a fun day was spent delivering presents and enjoying the parties for the festive season… The kiddies had such fun and each child was given a wrapped present with their names on it… they were thrilled and felt so happy and special !!! THAT’s what it’s all about !! FEED SA would like to wish all the people who have sponsored and donated during the year a VERY HAPPY, FANTASTIC NEW YEAR and a MERRY CHRISTMAS…. we look forward to feeding MORE bodies, minds and souls in the new year x x x
Last week, FEED SA was fortunate to have the Chesed Club from King David Sandton assist with the packing of sweets for all the FEED SA children for Christmas…
It was such a fun experience for all the kids who worked liked little machines !!
The children laughed and enjoyed every moment, and so much effort was put into creating the special packages !!
The kiddies from the Chesed Club shared in this day of creating a memorable and Merry Christmas for all the other children who will be receiving the sweetie packs.
A day of giving and receiving – that’s what it’s all about… as we continue to feed BODIES, MINDS and SOULS
We extend a HUGE thank you to all those who helped pack and created such a special day.
Blue Strata has generously funded the building of AREA GANENG – one of our crèches in Alexandra Township
Area Ganeng is run by an amazing and brilliant woman named Rebecca, and her dream was to have separate classrooms so as to split the children attending the crèche into their appropriate age groups.
She also wanted to build toilets, allowing the children privacy and space to do their private business !!
After many meetings and presentations, FEED SA is ecstatic to announce that this project has been funded by Blue Strata – a Johannesburg based company, who has taken on Area Ganeng as their charity of choice, as well as for the monthly feeding scheme.
With the wonderful and QUICK work of Plumbers on Call, Area Ganeng has been rebuilt – according to Rebecca’s dream !!!!
We have been able to add on 2 more class rooms, as well as an office and 6 toilets, with basins AND one bath !!
The outside area will now have jungle gyms and space on which the children can run, play and ride !!
This has been an extremely exciting project and we are thrilled that we were able to complete this.
A HUGE thanks to Adam Orlin and the team at Blue Strata as well as Jarid Levin at Plumbers On Call..
Thank you for helping us make their dream a reality….. and for helping us to continue to feed bodies, minds and souls ……..

Gauteng Baobab Early Childhood Training Programme is an organization that has been established in order to provide accredited early childhood training for child minders and care givers in the communities. The facilitators are accredited assessors and are included on the EDTP SETA (Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority) data base.
Many employed child-minders and care-givers in both Soweto and the Alexandra communities, want to establish best practice in the way that they teach children.
These teachers do not have the financial means or even the appropriate educational levels to go to professional colleges or Universities. BAOBAB will be providing this training to the Preschool teachers who are supported by FEED SA at a very minimal cost to the learners. All lectures, educational teaching material , stationery and emotional support will be provided for by BAOBAB. The weekly transporting of the learners to King David Linksfield will be sponsored by FEED SA .
At the end of the training course the learners will receive an NQF level 1 accreditation. The mission statement for BAOBAB is to empower care-givers and child-minders to advance their teaching skills, as foundation learning for all children and to foster commitment for future education and training.
BAOBAB and King David Linksfield (PPS) together with FEED SA are going to lead our teachers to a brighter educated future for our special South African children.
